My first Magazine feature – MOYO Issue 10, 08.04.17
If you’ve followed me for a while, you may remember I won my first design contest last year with Fashion Formula and had my Mediterranean Seaside design printed onto 3 meters of fabric! (And if you’ve just joined me recently, the above happened, and I was very excited! Very, very excited).
I was so excited, I told the lovely Make it in Design team, who run the wonderful Surface Pattern Design modules I studied throughout 2016, about my win. And they were excited too and have run a little feature in the latest edition of the MOYO Magazine (Issue 10), page108, along with winners from other Fashion Formula contests. It’s out this week and I’m so chuffed to be in it. showcasing a winning design! Read it here (page 108)
As you can see, it’s a magazine packed with inspiring interviews with established designers, news about latest trends, design briefs and loads of tips and advice. Can’t wait to get all the way through it. Oh and the balloon photo – that was the cake my parents had made for my recent ‘special’ birthday, with my design on! It was a lot of cake.
Thinking back to this time last year I hadn’t drawn or sketched for a long time, I’d barely used Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop and it was taking me hours and hours to produce even the beginnings of a repeat pattern! Now, I’ve got loads of patterns under my belt, am a much more confident and competent designer and have so many ideas that I’m getting down on paper! Pretty cool!
But hang on a minute…what did I make with my 3 metres of fabric? Click here to read my post about what my beautiful ‘Mediterranean Crush’ fabric got turned in to.
